1. Stepper motor is a kind of special motor used as control. Its rotation is operated step by step at a fixed angle (called step angle). It has no accumulative error (accuracy is 100%), so it is widely used in various open-loop control. The operation of the stepper motor needs an electronic device to drive. This device is the stepper motor driver. It converts the pulse signal from the control system into the angular displacement of the stepper motor. Or, every pulse signal of the control system is sent, and the stepper motor is rotated one step by the driver. So the speed of stepper motor is directly proportional to the frequency of the pulse signal. Therefore, controlling the frequency of stepping pulse signal can speed the motor precisely, and controlling the number of stepping pulse can locate the motor precisely.

2. The step angle of the stepper motor becomes smaller by subdividing the actuator. For example, when the actuator works in 10 subdividing state, the step angle is only one tenth of the inherent step angle of the motor. That is to say,'When the actuator works in non-subdividing step state, the control system rotates 1 for each step pulse. 8'; and the motor only rotates 0.18''when the subdivision driver operates in 10 subdivision state, which is the basic concept of subdivision. The subdivision function is entirely generated by the precise control of the phase current of the motor by the driver, independent of the motor.

The main advantage of the driver division is that the low frequency oscillation of the motor is completely eliminated. Low frequency oscillation is an inherent characteristic of stepping motors, especially reactive motors, and subdivision is the only way to eliminate it. If your stepping motor sometimes works in the resonance region (such as arcing), the choice of subdivision driver is the only choice. The output torque of the motor is improved. Especially for three-phase reaction motor, its torque ratio is increased by about 30-40% without subdivision. The resolution of the motor is improved. Because the step angle is reduced and the step uniformity is improved, it is self-evident that the resolution of motor is improved.
